In the News: ‘Google is Teaching Children How to Act Online’ by The NY Times

“Data collection and privacy is at the top of everyone’s mind recently. But it’s not just a concern for adults. As more and more kids grow up online, parents need to take a closer look at how companies collect and use the personal information our children (sometimes unknowingly) leave behind. Google’s “Be Internet Awesome” program has good intentions when it comes to teaching kids about online safety, but this NYT article shows that tech leaders need to be more transparent. We need to know that Google — which owns two of the top 10 children’s brands — and others have our kids’ best interests at heart. “
